How to Feel up When the Holidays Get You Down

It should be the happiest time of the year. But oddly enough, for a lot of people, holidays are when they feel their worst.

With about 19 million Americans suffering from depression, and with prescriptions for drugs to treat the disorder having doubled over the last 10 years alone, the problem is only growing without real healthy answers from the medical community. The reason is that most people don't have the first clue about what's really giving us the blues.

Why is it so common for the holidays to make otherwise happy people depressed?

Here are three reasons you can get emotionally down during the holidays:

The holidays bring up a lot of emotional baggage from our childhood. If you have unresolved issues about your family the closer family contact during this time of year can stir these feelings up.Maybe your unresolved issues are keeping you estranged from your family, which stirs up feelings of loss, anger, and grief.

With the increased spending during the holidays, stressing over money can get you down.Increased spending can rock the boat in your relationships causing more contention.

If you have issues with food, you are faced with more temptation to blow your diet, and the thought of your overweight status is nagging you even more than ever.

Why do most people go through life never identifying the true source of their feelings?



Most of the year we can stay busy enough with the daily stresses of life that we tend to ignore the deeper feelings we carry, only to have them surface during the holiday season.

As children, we were not encouraged to share our feelings, we were told to put on a happy face and ignore how we really felt.These unacknowledged, buried emotions are feelings within us that are very much alive and active.They are the cause of many diseases and disharmonies in the body.

What are the three things anyone can do today to heal the holiday blues?



First, acknowledge that you feel blue or down.Place your hand on your chest, this is a major energy center called your heart chakra, and repeat the following three times, "Even though I feel down and blue I deeply love and accept myself."(For more information on the Chakras pick up a copy of my Chakra Home Study Course, Becoming a Vibrant Human Being: Living, Loving, and Creating from Your Chakras.)

Accepting yourself in this downer state is powerfully healing.It will honor your feelings and in that honoring allow the emotional energy to begin to release.

Second, once you have acknowledged how you feel, take some time to write out how you might have felt as a child.The following is an easy and effective technique to help you get to those deeper feelings.

A Letter to Yourself: Take your dominant hand and write a letter to your younger self that never got to share their feelings honestly.At the top of a piece of paper write "Dear Little (your name goes here)," for example if I were writing to me I would write "Dear Little Carol." On the next line write an invitation to your younger self to share their feelings, for example, "Tell me how you are feeling, what was it like to be you?"

Now take your pen or pencil and place it in your non-dominant hand and write "Dear Big (your name goes here),"and start writing and see what comes out.

Writing with your non-dominant hand mimics a child's handwriting and taps into your deeper mind where the emotions are hiding.

Write back to your younger self with statements of acceptance and validation, honoring that is how you might have felt as a child.

Third, forgive yourself and others for how you feel.Do this by placing your hand on your chest (your heart chakra again) while repeating statements like:

"I forgive myself for feeling down and blue this time of year, I am doing the best I know how."

"I forgive my younger self for feeling powerless and unheard, they were doing the best they knew how."

"I forgive my mom and dad, they did the best they knew how with the knowledge and resources they had."

Forgiveness is an important step in releasing downer feelings.Even if you are not ready to completely feel forgiveness, doing this process plants seeds that propel you toward more wellness and happiness.

Slow down this holiday season.Take time each day to reflect on the good and the important that is in your life.

Reach out to someone in your family that you would not likely reach out to.Spend less money and give more gifts of service.Put food in its proper perspective, a resource to assist you in maintaining good health and not a substitute for fulfillment.

Tell yourself you are feeling better and better each day and you probably will.

Meditation for Weight Loss


Meditation is a process, a journey, rather than a goal or a destination. It basically consists of paying attention to your breathing and letting go of distracting thoughts. It sounds simple but sometimes it takes years and years of practice to accomplish this quieting of the mind. The process does have many benefits. It allows your mind to become calm and your mind and body to become deeply relaxed, resulting in a reduction of stress, a clearer mind, increased concentration, sharper focus and enhanced memory.

"So, how can this help me lose weight?" You ask.

For starters, it reduces stress and, therefore, reduces cortisol, a chemical byproduct of stress that tends to help the body produce blood sugar from proteins and use the excess glucose for fat production. Cortisol is also believed to increase the desire for and consumption of high-fat foods which you will want to avoid.

Meditation also allows you to reach a level of relaxation that allows your subconscious mind to retain and act upon suggestions about staying in control of food and eating, to increase metabolism, to love exercise and to shed those excess pounds.

And meditation sets up a mindset of relaxation and a feeling of well-being for the day which makes it easier to stay on the program you have chosen to help you create that slender, healthy body you desire.

How do you start meditating? Ten meditation techniques are listed below to help you get started.

Meditation Technique #1 Be Consistent

Choose one time of day that you can easily work into your schedule. The benefit of meditating at the same time each day is that your biorhythms will naturally adjust to it as a habit, like waking, eating and falling asleep. Your nervous system will grow accustomed to meditating at a particular time allowing you to enter deep meditative states more easily.

Make sure your phone is turned off. If you have children, set aside a time when they're at school or asleep.

Meditation Technique #2 Create Your Space Create a boundary between you and the outside world even if you're only meditating for ten minutes.

Meditation Technique #3 Where to Meditate?

Reserve a special place in your home to meditate. It can be as simple as setting aside a comfortable chair or pillow, or an entire room if you have the space. Place a candle, flowers, or any special items that have spiritual meaning for you on a table as an altar.

Creating a place that is reserved for meditation helps because Spiritual Energies gather in the place where you meditate; making it easier each time you sit in the same spot. Like going to a temple, church, or place of worship, with regular practice all you will need to do is sit in that place to feel settled, calm, and relaxed.

It can take many months of meditation to attain theta levels consistently during your meditation practice. Meditation Technique #4 Create a Reverent Atmosphere

Invent your own soothing ritual before you meditate. Maybe it's at night after a bath, or at dawn before the rest of the world is awake. Light a candle, take a few deep breaths, and dedicate your meditation to the unfoldment of your highest potential. Say a prayer, chant or burn some incense if you wish. A tranquil and reverent atmosphere helps to induce a meditative state. Some people find Meditation Music helpful.

Meditation Technique #5 Position Yourself for Meditation

Sit with your spine straight. Use pillows behind your back for support if needed. It's important to have your spine straight so energy can travel freely up and down your spine. You may sit cross-legged or on a comfortable chair with your feet flat on the floor. You can also lie down, placing a pillow under your knees. If you tend to fall asleep when meditating, it's best to sit up so you can stay awake.

Tip: Theta is the frequency of meditation. Because theta is right on the edge of delta, associated with sleep, it's common for beginning meditators to drift into a nap instead of meditation. If you fall asleep easily when meditating try using Brain Power. It harmonically layers theta waves with very high beta frequencies to keep you awake and alert.

Meditation Technique #6 How Long Should I Meditate?

How long you meditate each day depends on you. A good beginning is 10 to 15 minutes per day. You might find that you naturally expand your meditation time by adding five minutes here and there. Another way to expand the time you meditate is to set a goal of adding five minutes each week until you adopt a natural rhythm of twenty to thirty minutes. One of the pitfalls of beginning meditators is to be too ambitious. Trust your intuition and start off with an amount of time that feels comfortable for you.

Advanced meditators usually spend an hour per day in meditation. If you can gradually work up to forty or sixty minutes the better your progress will be. Consistency brings remarkable long-term benefits.

The key is to do it every day. The effects of meditation are cumulative. Richard Davidson, a professor of psychology and psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin says, "Modern neuroscience is showing that our minds are as plastic as our bodies. Meditation can help you train your mind in the same way exercise can train your body." Therefore, each and every minute you meditate you're enhancing the biochemistry of your brain, building muscles that increase your mental, emotional and spiritual potential.

Meditation Technique #6 Sit, Breathe and Relax

When you meditate, take long slow deep breaths. Send the breath deep into your abdomen and then breathe out. Each time you breathe in imagine cleansing energy infusing your body. When you breathe out, ask your body to let go of tension and stress.

Tip: To quiet a busy mind count each exhalation, starting with one going up until ten, then begin the cycle all over again. If you forget where you are, go back to one and begin again. Do this for ten minutes to slow down mental activity. In the beginning many thoughts will come and go. When you notice you are thinking, bring your attention back to your breath. Linger on the peaceful space that lies between your thoughts. In time the space will expand.

Meditation Technique #7 Relax with a Body Scan

A body scan calms your nervous system, releases tension and helps you feel embodied - sometimes we spend so much time in our heads that we forget we have a body. Practicing this exercise for five or ten minutes is a meditation in itself. It's also a wonderful way to settle down before you meditate.

To begin, direct your consciousness to explore your left foot. Feel the physical sensations inside and around your foot. Then move your consciousness up your left leg, to your knee, thigh and into your left hip. Imagine traveling through the arteries, tissues and bones. You might come across energy blocks or areas of numbness. You might feel tingling vibrations, as the cells come alive from your conscious attention. Observe the sensations. Experiment with how you can tell muscles to relax and let go simply by directing your will.

Do the same with the right foot and leg up into your right hip. Direct your awareness to the root chakra area - abdomen and buttocks. Next explore your stomach, heart and chest, traveling up to your throat. Then move down to your left hand, feel the sensations in each of your fingers, and travel up your arm to your left shoulder. Repeat with the right side. Explore your neck and throat; notice how you can relax and expand your throat. Travel into your brain, let your face and jaw relax. Allow the muscles around your scalp, temples and forehead to soften and relax.

Tip: EEG (electroencephalogram) research has revealed that when the forehead, temples and scalp are relaxed, theta activity moves more easily into the frontal cortex. When those muscles relax you are able to go deeper into a meditative state.

Meditation Technique #8 How to Deal with the Mind

Gain the benefits of meditation even if you're a new meditator. Balance your Chakras, become positive and reduce anxiety; strengthen your immune system, and develop your creativity, just by listening to Deep Meditation.

The first goal of meditation is to notice and quiet random thoughts. In his book, Learn to Meditate, David Fontana, Ph.D. says, "By watching your thoughts and learning to identify them as distractions you have begun the path of meditation."

As you practice meditation you'll become aware of how your mind runs around in circles with many different thoughts and memories. At first your mind will be like a chatterbox, shifting from one concern to another, this is natural. You might catch yourself thinking about work or solving problems. You might worry about something that hasn't happened yet or remember things you forgot, like paying your credit card bill.

Meditation Technique #9

Label Your Thoughts Observe the quality of your thoughts and then label them. "These are busy, work thoughts," "These thoughts are negative and limiting," or "Here we go again with my To Do list." Then gently return your attention to your breath and expand into the space between your thoughts.

Each time you identify the quality of your thoughts, you are making enormous strides in meditation that will inevitably unfold in your life. In time you will become a keen observer of your inner world. You'll notice when you've fallen into negative thinking and you'll learn to redirect your attention to thoughts that expand and enhance your sense of self.

The highest level of thought is positive. Positive thoughts soothe your nervous system and encourage states of wholeness and well being. If negative emotions arise, such as anger, regret, fear or sorrow, label them and then gently shift your attention to something positive.

Meditation Technique #9

Meditate Upon Your Divine Self

A powerful practice is to meditate upon your divine self, the self who holds vast potential and gifts. Use your imagination to discover the magnificent being within. Drink from the well of knowledge that will multiply your joy and fulfillment in life. Exploring and contacting your divine nature is what meditation is all about. Meditation Technique #10

Finish with Feeling At the end of your meditation session, just sit for a moment, feeling the energies moving in your body. This pause before you leap back into the world allows you to integrate the meditation session into your daily life.

Well in this email I am going to show you just how to do it! The technique requires the use of the Third eye! (the area between your eye brows) The third eye is a spiritual eye, in science it is actually the Pineal gland. Some of you (lucky few) might frequently get red blemishes on your third eye-especially when you are stressed or thinking too much! This shows an advanced third eye (gained from years of meditation in a previous life) just waiting to break out. (Because it usually takes years of meditation to develop the third eye) The third eye can be used for many mystical things but since this is a fat loss article, I will just stick with showing you how to use it to burn fat or to make time "go away"

First a little information on the third eye The pineal gland was the last endocrine gland to have its function discovered. Its location deep in the brain seemed to indicate its importance. This combination led to its being a "mystery" gland with myth, superstition and even metaphysical theories surrounding its perceived function.

The pineal gland is occasionally associated with the sixth chakra (also called Ajna or the third eye chakra in yoga). It is believed by some to be a dormant organ that can be awakened to enable "telepathic" communication. In the physical body the eye views objects upside down. It sends the image of what it observes to the brain which interprets the image and makes it appear right side-up to us.

But the human body has another physical eye whose function has long been recognized by humanity. It is called the 'Third Eye' which in reality is the Pineal Gland. It is long thought to have mystical powers. Many consider it the Spiritual Third Eye, our Inner Vision. It is located in the geometric center of the brain. This correlates to the location of the Great Pyramid in the center of the physical planet. The Pineal Gland is about the size of a pea, and is in the center of the brain in a tiny cave behind and above the pituitary gland which lies a little behind the root of the nose. It is located directly behind the eyes, attached to the third ventricle.

The true function of this mysterious gland has long been contemplated by philosophers and Spiritual Adepts. Ancient Greeks believed the pineal gland to be our connection to the Realms of Thought. Rene Descartes called it the Seat of the Soul, believing it is unique in the anatomy of the human brain in being a structure not duplicated on the right and left sides. This observation is not true, however; under a microscope one finds the pineal gland is divided into two fine hemispheres.

This gland is activated by Light, and it controls the various biorhythms of the body. It works in harmony with the hypothalamus gland which directs the body's thirst, hunger, sexual desire and the biological clock that determines our aging process.

When the pineal gland awakens one feels a pressure at the base of the brain. This pressure will often be experienced when connecting to higher frequency. A head injury can also activate the Third Eye - Pineal Gland. While the physiological function of the pineal gland has been unknown until recent times, mystical traditions and esoteric schools have long known this area in the middle of the brain to be the connecting link between the physical and spiritual worlds. Considered the most powerful and highest source of ethereal energy available to humans, the pineal gland has always been important in initiating supernatural powers. Development of psychic talents has been closely associated with this organ of higher vision.

Ok, to activate the third eye, all you need to do is apply attention to it, and you do this by closing your eyes and focusing both eyes between your eye brows, when you do this you will notice a slight change of pressure and you will see different changes in light -when your eyes are closed, when you focus your attention on there, the outside world will disappear, your thoughts will stop and this is how this method works!

When you are up on the treadmill-it is thoughts that aggravate you ,that tell you that you are tired, that remind you that you have things to do at home, that gives you a million reasons why you should stop exercising on the treadmill and just go home!

If you can stop these thoughts , you stop all the limitation s of your body , including the limitations of being tired, you stop the perception of time and even effort and you turn your 60 minutes on the treadmill to 10 minutes or even less!

I recommend you try it on an elliptical machine first, as your eyes will be closed and you will feel safer than running on a treadmill!

And also it will take practice, some of you will get it right away; others will need time to develop the third eye!

When we look at our energy-system, we see where energies are stuck or stagnant, or overactive and scattered. An energetic perspective gives you a new way of looking at old issues.

For example- the first chakra, also known as the "root" chakra, is located right around the tailbone. The first chakra, the root chakra, is the foundation of our energy system. One of the ways to improve the energy and balance in the first chakra is to find ways of staying grounded. Being grounded refers to feeling connected to your body, as well as being able to connect to the grounded energies of the earth element. One thing I suggest to my clients to become better grounded is to learn to sit with their feet flat on the floor. Even better is to have bare or only stocking feet. Any time you think of it, press your feet into the floor, making full contact. Feel the connection-This counteracts our culture's "mind over matter" imbalance. We suffer and are unable to manifest in our lives when we are "out" of our bodies, or not grounded.

Psychic Healing: Anti-Aging Techniques


I have talked to many people over the years about how they feel about aging and related issues. Every single person eventually came to a similar conclusion. They didn't mind getting older, so much, they just didn't want to look and feel old!

Psychic healing techniques have made some wonderful strides in the last ten years or so, particularly in the area of aging, and while I cannot offer anyone immortality yet, these techniques can help almost everyone look and feel younger.

Receiving healing treatments from a professional can be of great benefit to you in your anti-aging efforts, but a consistent personal practice is needed too. As with most forms of healing, the real changes have to come from within the individual.

If you are unfamiliar with psychic field work, the type of technique we are discussing, here are some basic keys to help you get started.

*Think conceptually! This just means that you focus on the raw idea of what you want to happen or perceive. It is different, and more effective than simple visualization. It can also be a little tricky at first. While it is a skill worth learning, rest assured that you will be having good effects if you visualize things as well. While tests have show that the top performers in all psychic fields describe themselves as utilizing conceptual thinking, it is not the only way to get results. Practice as often as you can and it will become easier to think this way.

*Take your time! Many people don't realize that the longer they focus clearly on a concept, the stronger the field of effect will be. Spending ten minutes in a focused concentrated state gets you far better results than five minutes. Try to give yourself at least twenty minutes for each separate technique. Once you have a well developed field going, you can maintain it with only a few minutes work per day! It has to be strong enough to last from day to day first though, so don't stint yourself by not putting in the time!

*Work from as deep a mental state as possible! Meditation and bio-feedback can help you to learn to use deeper states of mind. It is worth the time and effort to learn to reach these deep levels of mind, as far as psychic field work is concerned, the difference in effect is so great. The idea that the most useful psychic state is in the alpha or theta brainwave range was based on tests of largely untrained and inexperienced individuals. Often college students with no training or practice at all!

When Shaman and advanced workers with a great deal of experience have been tested, it has been found that they often drop into Delta and even Epsilon states. Delta has traditionally been associated only with deep sleep, until recently it was not known that a person could remain aware and conscious during this brainwave state at all. Epsilon state activity seems to be the new gold standard for psychic work. It took the advent of better machinery to determine that this level of though even took place. It is the new term for brainwave activity of one Hertz per second or less. Older e.e.g.'s stopped recording at 1 Hertz. Anything below that level was not even recorded.

*Influence active and energetic systems! Psychic field work uses fields of information to alter systems that contain energy already, evidence is building that almost all psychic activity takes place in this manner. In broad terms you change the programming of a process, rather than hit it with overwhelming force. Things that move, live and grow are all active systems and can be easily influenced. It is also possible to influence raw energies, such as heat or light.

Keep these points in mind while doing your daily anti-aging work, and your results will show great improvement. Don't worry if your technique is not instantly perfect though, even beginners have worthwhile results when using these techniques. The very act of making the daily attempt will create some results, even if none of these methods are used.

Feel free to pick and chose amongst these techniques based on your personal needs. There is no current "best" formula. You might notice greater results by picking one or two techniques and using them for twenty minutes each day for a few weeks, then adding other techniques, while shortening the time spent on the first ones to a few minutes per day. Consistency of practice and making the effort are the important parts, so stick with it!

*Be your younger self! Remember the way your body and mind felt when you were younger? Once you do, hold that concept! If held clearly (as clearly as you can, without your mind drifting too much) for twenty minutes to an hour, you will build a psychic field that will actually begin to return you to that younger age! Just as it took some time to age it will take time to reverse the process, so give it a chance to work. You will most likely feel positive effects in a few days.

*Focus on clarity! Hold the concept of your mind feeling and being clearer! When done correctly this is a very circular idea. You focus on clarity, your mind gets clearer, allowing you to focus more clearly, making your mind even sharper! I often use a similar technique before doing any psychic or mental work. It can almost double the effect of your efforts!

*Feel healthy! It may seem counter intuitive at first, especially if you are currently ill, but if you can hold the idea of how it feels to be healthy, you can overcome pain and injury at a much faster rate. By "feeling healthy" I mean that you should hold the concept of your own health. This creates the conditions for simple re-patterning. Literally an alteration of your psychic field to the desired state.

*Increase your energy! Feel energy build in a small, but growing ball in the middle of your head. Let the ball of energetic feeling fill your brain and work down you spine into your body. Maintain this concept. You will soon have many times your previous vigor. Even a few minutes of this will give your entire body/mind a boost! It causes your body to speed up your metabolic rate and release needed neuro-transmitters. I have used this technique to replace caffeine and to help increase weight loss. It is simple, but it works.

*Let go of stress and pain! Imagine a hollow tube running down the center of your body. Let this feeling of hollowness reach every part of your being. Within a few moments you will likely feel a relief from stress and pain. Now hold on to this concept. With a good solid psychic field running you will feel pain and stress less acutely and feel more comfortable as you go through life.

*Focus on joy! Most people just let their emotions happen to them and do not try to control or condition them. By feeling the idea of joy and holding it, you not only release the "happy chemicals" of your brain, beta endorphins, but condition yourself to be more likely to release them in the future. You can use this same basic technique to induce or control any feeling.

Remember a time when you felt really happy. Focus on that emotion and try to relive exactly how it felt. As it comes into being concentrate on the sensations of the state and make them grow stronger.

There are more specific techniques that a practitioner might use to help a person in their anti-aging efforts, but these are the basics. With these techniques, if applied well and regularly, you can strip years off of the way you look and feel, increase your energy and return your body to a healthier state.

Begin with the Mind and the Body will Follow

It is commonplace knowledge in the weight loss industry that just going on a diet or being on a weight loss program does not guarantee permanent weight loss results. You will invariably gain back all the weight you have lost unless you are convinced in your subconscious mind that you will be lean and strong FOR LIFE. This mindset is one area that is missing in most weight loss programs. However, there is a way to fill in this missing link.

Begin with the mind and the rest will follow. This is as true with starting a new course of study or opening a new business as it is with weight loss. The idea is that you have to convince your subconscious mind first of all that you want to lose the weight and that you are in fact a lean and healthy individual. You need to feed your subconscious self these suggestions so that your mind will direct you to the most viable alternatives that will make these suggestions come true.

Scientific evidence shows that our ability to receive suggestions is based on a particular state of mind--a kind of altered state of consciousness. This state of consciousness is a departure from normal consciousness which operates mainly under the Beta brainwave.

Your brain emits electrochemical discharges when it is in function. But there are different levels of function. When you are functioning on your "alert" daytime level such as conversing with friends, talking to someone, teaching, solving a chemical equation or writing an essay, you are in Beta. The frequency of Beta waves ranges from 15-40 cycles a second. This is your normal daytime brainwave level.

The next brainwave level is Alpha which you get to when you take a break. When you sit back after having solved chemistry problems, you are in Alpha state. When you are sitting in the train, watching the landscape flow by, as your thoughts pursue their own journey, you are in Alpha state. Praying or meditating also puts you in this state. Alpha brainwaves are slower, but higher in amplitude. Their frequency ranges from 9-14 cycles per second. In this state, you are relaxed; you feel a sense of calm and security. You muscles feel mellowed and you are open to suggestions. The few minutes you experience when you are totally relaxed before you fall asleep is Alpha state.

Getting to the Alpha level is best for re-programming yourself. Eight-five percent of all medical problems (including overeating and weight problems) are associated with unresolved tension and stress held in the body. Getting to Alpha will definitely help you break up this unresolved tension and move you to a more stable control of your eating. What is more, you can reprogram yourself easily when you mind is in Alpha.

Begin then by taking the time to relax. 20-30 minutes a day of meditative calm would be sufficient. Develop a routine for deep breathing, during which you focus your mind on a word, sound or mantra. The meaning of the sound or word is not as important as the feeling it evokes in you as you repeat it. Once you have loosened the tension in your body, feed your mind positive images. Visualize yourself at your ideal weight. Focus on your slim and slender body, your well-shaped legs. Imagine yourself living a powerful, dynamic life. Would you be bingeing yourself to death?

Make this positive visualization of your ideal self a daily practice until you find it actually easy to see yourself as lean, strong and beautiful. Next time you feel like wolfing down a whole chocolate cake, shift your mind to that slender body and well-shaped legs.

When I gained the extra weight during menopause, it was pretty difficult for me to believe that I could get back to a size 4. I kept thinking: "I am over 50 and my body is different now. The hormonal changes are making it difficult for me to be what I was in my twenties." Then I realized I was using the same excuse that I used after my pregnancy: "mothers are supposed to gain weight."

We tend to rely on commonly accepted assumptions to make our decisions and most of these assumptions are wrong. Do you know that your body can be sculpted the way you want it? You are 99% water and quantum space and the body as you see it is NOT cast in stone or flesh. What's more is that what you see is created by the visual cortex in the rear of your skull from a web of chemical and electrical charges in your brain. And the visual pattern created by your visual cortex is different from the pattern created by mine or someone else's. You do not see things that are out there. You create things in here( your mind) when you see.

Now this physiological fact liberates us--because now we know that we can create what we want. And if our situation is not what we want, WE CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!

What can we do?

1. We can make a plan to build lean body mass by eating more low-fat protein (not too much animal protein as this comes with fat and calories.) Consume soy or vegetable protein: soy products, legumes. There is no doubt that protein builds the lean body mass that gives your body its youthful firmness. But you want protein without the fat in Meat Protein. Soy or Wheat protein is the best alternative. It gives you the protein without the fat!

2. We can start an exercise program that is enjoyable like tennis, skating, walking.

3. We can love ourselves and feed it healthy, nutritious foods.

4. We can stay away from people who try to sabotage our attempts to be the best we can be.

We are the ones in charge of who we can become. Nothing is tying us to a stake but our own feelings of limitation.

Eating a meal of beans and rice give you more protein per serving than meat without the saturated fat. There are lots of nutrients found in brown rice and unrefined grains. Be sure to eat 100% whole grains to get the full benefit of this healthy style of living.

The overall benefits of a meat free diet are monumental and should become the foundation for anyone trying to change to a healthier lifestyle. Weight loss is inevitable when eating less fat and consuming more fiber from plants will make you feel lighter on your feet. So, why does a vegetarian diet work so well to lose weight and keep it off? The answer is simple. Since the majority of the foods that are accepted on a vegetarian diet are very low in calories you can still have large dishes of food without the high caloric intake price. That means you can fill a plate, fill your stomach, and still keep your calorie count low, and help control your appetite, which will lead to weight loss.

But you can't just eat as much as you want on a vegetarian diet. While most of the foods are very low in calories, there are still some that can cause you to keep the pounds on and even add a few here and there. If your vegetarian diet is filled with items made with coconut oil or other vegetable oils, the fat content in those ingredients can keep you from losing weight. That's why it's important to focus on the high-fiber fruit, vegetable and grain items on the vegetarian diet.
